Liverpool Experimental Orchestra
The Liverpool Experimental Orchestra, formerly known at a.P.A.t.T. Orchestra, is an inclusive large scale ensemble of non-specific instrumentation that performed time and place-specific music and cross art-form collaborations in unusual settings. It used the architecture of each venue to inform composition and/or performance and welcomed musicians from all backgrounds and of all abilities.
The the a.p.A.t.T orchestra, directed by Jon Herring - a member of Ex-Easter Island Head - performed for Video Jam at Manchester Art Gallery (17/07/14). The performance comprised a rendition of Clapping Music by Steve Reich, performed by members of the orchestra using film clapper boards. The performance was commissioned in response to British conceptual artist Ryan Gander's major exhbition Make Every Show Like It's Your Last.
